GREEN IS GO

Today marks the long-awaited launch of the new Dundee United away strip. The green jersey is destined to be a hit if the popularity of the green strip of two seasons ago is anything to go by with sales of the 2000-2001 version being among the best ever at the Club. The number of deposits and orders taken at the Club Shop well in advance of today's launch corroborate expectations. Few hours after going on sale, United Souvenir Shop Manageress Helen Docherty was enthusiastic about the launch: "We have had a very encouraging response from the people who visited the Shop today and sales have been good. I think, we will be exceedingly busy selling on this year's Open Day at Tannadice this coming Sunday once everybody has seen the team play their first game of the season wearing the strip which consists of a green jersey, green shorts and white socks."
