United were unable to snatch a point in the last quarter of an hour of today's match with Celtic after the home team's Paul Lambert scored an own goal in the 78th minute to make the score 2-1 for Celtic.
That was the way it finished but earlier United had coped well with the expected Celtic pressure until Larsson headed the opener in the 34th minute. A second Celtic goal from Thompson in the 62nd minute suggested all three points were remaining in Glasgow until the Lambert own goal gave United's travelling support some hope but it was not to be.
