FIVE MINUTE HAT-TRICK FOR DAVID WINTERS

8th January 2001

United are still enjoying their winter break - but it was a good weekend for the four Tangerines players currently out on loan.

Grabbing the headlines was 18-year-old striker David Winters who hit a hat-trick in five fantastic first half minutes as Forfar flew to a 7-0 Second Division success over Stenhousemuir at Station Park.

There were pleasing debuts as well for Stephen McConalogue and Kevin McDonald, both of whom impressed in Morton's goalless draw at Raith Rovers.

In England, full-back David Worrell, on a 3-month loan to Plymouth Argyle, has earned praise from ex-United boss Paul Sturrock, now in charge at the Nationwide League outfit.
