United's midweek closed-doors friendly against Hearts in the capital will hopefully confirm manager Alex Smith's thoughts on his Tannadice guests Valerijs Ivanovs and Raul Sanchez.
The Tangerines boss has already indicated his interest in the pair on the evidence of what he has seen in training sessions but, as he admitted, "There is no way that I will be rushing into any signings until I am certain that they are the right men for the Club".
Vastly experienced midfielder Ivanovs, capped 64 times by Latvia, and Barcelona winger Sanchez, have both chatted over their futures with Smith. However their performances against Hearts will go a long way to deciding whether those futures lie at Tannadice.
On the injury front, Dave Hannah is getting close to returning to full training following his troublesome hip injury. The former Celtic star has been ruled out of action since aggravating the problem in the SPL defeat by Kilmarnock in late November.
