United are hopeful that emerging stars Paul Gallacher and David Winters will put pen to paper on new three-year contracts in the next few days.
Boss Alex Smith has been delighted with the progress of both this season and believes each deserves to be rewarded with a long-term deal. "Paul has shown what a good prospect he is since he broke into the first team around Christmas and David has also worked hard here and during his loan spell at Forfar earlier in the season," said Alex.
In the near future he will also be opening talks with midfielder Craig Easton about a new contract, while young reserves Kevin McDonald, Blair Sturrock and Gary Middleton will also be given the opportunity to prolong their stays at Tannadice.
