United have not yet entered into further contract talks with midfield pair Craig Easton and Tassos Venetis, but boss Alex Smith has made it clear that both will be getting new deals soon.
Easton's current deal expires in October while Venetis becomes a free agent two months later. Long before then, however, Alex plans to have them fixed up.
''We already had extensive talks with Craig and we'll arrange more before too long. I do not see any problem with him,'' said Alex on Tuesday.
''As for Tassos, he will definitely be getting a contract. Because he has been here a while now we tend to forget he is only 20 and he has a very bright future ahead of him.''
Of course, after missing the weekend derby through suspension, Easton is set for his first appearance of the season at Motherwell this weekend. Then, ironically, he could take over from Venetis wide on the right.
