The Dundee United first team squad and management took time out of their busy training schedule to visit Ninewells Hospital. They brought gifts for patients in Tayside Children’s Hospital and in some of the medical and physiotherapy departments.
The squad arrived with gifts for kids of all ages and spent a while posing for photos and signing autographs for the youngsters. Players also visited wards 23a, 23b and the physiotherapy gym to bring some Christmas cheer to the patients within these areas, too.
Club captain Seán Dillon said, “We always look forward to visiting Ninewells at this time of year to spread a little festive cheer and meet some of the patients.
“It’s a small act for us to spend some time to bring some joy, especially to children who cannot be home for Christmas.
“It’s also fantastic to meet some of the staff who do an amazing job all year round.”
NHS Tayside Chairman Professor John Connell said, “We are always delighted to welcome the players and officials from Dundee United to Ninewells at Christmas.
“Having to be in hospital at Christmas time is never pleasant but visits like this make the time more bearable, especially for children.
“We are very grateful to Dundee United for their generosity and for taking the time out of their busy training schedule.”
