Darren Taylor spoke to ArabZONE today and could not hide his delight at being able to confirm his appointment as Head of Football Operations.
Darren said, "I honestly cannot wait to get started full-time. I have been giving my best efforts on a part-time basis since Ray came to the Club but I am looking forward to spending all my energy pursuing the right players for Dundee United.
"My role will be removing all the unnecessary and unrealistic options for recruitment before ultimately the Manager decides on who to bring in. I will work across all age levels at the Club with the coaches to ensure there is a consistency in the type of player we are producing with the ultimate aim of providing the best talent for the first team.”

Darren has opted to end a successful business career to step into football full-time and, despite warnings from outwith football, sees it as a simple decision.
"I am giving up everything I have worked hard for in business, and colleagues told me I was crazy to do so, but it didn't take me long to agree to come on board with Ray. This partnership has been almost fifteen years in the making. I have performed this role on a casual basis for Ray at every club he has managed however this is also a big club compared to others, and the requirement to get it right with recruitment is far greater. I knew I had to commit to this 100%."
The weight of expectation at Dundee United is massive, but Darren understands this and expects it.
"Ultimately the Manager makes the decisions on who to bring to the Club but, before that, based on his specific criteria, my role is to discover the two or three options that are realistic targets, so the pressure is there on all of us to get it right for the benefit of Dundee United."
