Manager Alex Smith admitted on Thursday he has been highly impressed by one of the two trialists he has been running his eye over this week.
The as yet un-named midfielder has starred in closed door meetings with Aberdeen and Arbroath and that has been enough for the team boss to consider offering the player a contract.
"The player has looked very good and there is a good chance we will now look into getting him fixed up," confirmed Alex. "I am still not in a position to go public with his name, but I should be soon.
''Nothing will be complete before the Dunfermline match on Saturday, but I will be speaking to the lad about his situation and he is one I would consider for the first team straight away,'' said the gaffer.
A decision has still to be made concerning South African Philip Evans, the other trialist Alex has been looking at this week.
