After a much needed and confidence boosting win against Morton last Saturday United are on their travels this week when they make the relatively short trip to Dunfermline. This is a much-anticipated clash at the top of the table and is sure to attract a huge crowd.

The Pars have been in fantastic form this season and deservedly sit top of the Championship with a positive goal difference of 15. However despite United's stuttering form this season they lurk only two points behind and therefore three points for the Terrors will see us go above Saturday's hosts.
Dunfermline have clearly improved this season and United face a very tough task against a team they very much got the better of last season. In the six meetings between the sides Ray McKinnon’s men had five wins and one draw. The most memorable of these was the first meeting at East End Park when United won 3-1 in a game that will be remembered for Cammy Bell’s hat trick of penalty saves. Both clubs have changed their squads over the summer and therefore this is unlikely to count for much.
Former United man Callum Morris is back at Dunfermline and is now skippering the team. United will be further depleted at the back with the latest injury to Lewis Toshney but there is cover in the shape of Stewart Murdoch. Also likely to be missing is Paul Quinn with long-term absentee Tam Scobbie still a few weeks away. Arabs will be hoping to see the partnership of McDonald and Keatings develop further with the hope that they will add to their tally for the season and give United the three points.
