Manager Alex Smith, who's substitution of Charlie Miller on Saturday at Livingston was the fifth such action in six games, was quick to defend the player and emphasise that he is not alone in struggling to produce his best.
"Because of who Charlie is he will always be in the spotlight. To some people, when we play well it is because of what Charlie does and when we do not play well it is because of what he doesn't do," explained Alex.
"He is our creative force, but we are not a one-man team and our results are not just down to how Charlie plays and he certainly is not the only player not playing at his best right now."
"On Saturday we lost because we did not have the same up-and-at-them attitude that we did at the start of the season, and that is what we have to get back to quickly. We are a team when everyone pulls together and does their bit."
