CRAIG EASTON SET TO AGREE UNITED EXTENSION

19th September 2001

Alex Smith is confident that United can agree an extension to midfield star Craig Easton's contract after talks today.

The industrious Easton, second only to David Hannah in the United appearance stakes, is set for a meeting with his boss today to hammer out the final details of a contract to ensure his career continues with United.

The 22-year-old product of Dundee United Youth Development is out of contract next month, but the United manager is determined to ensure that he holds onto one of his brightest young prospects, and confirmed: "Craig should extend his stay at Dundee United after we talk to him today, I hope that there won't be any problems."
