The dismissal of Jamie McCunnie in the fiftieth minute and Jim Lauchlan two minutes later turned today's game at Pittodrie in Aberdeen's favour.
United took the lead just 40 seconds after the restart when Jim McIntyre headed home a cutback from Charlie Miller. The Dons equalised via a Robbie Winters penalty which resulted from the McCunnie sending off then two minutes later a moment of madness by Jim Lauchlan left his remaining nine team-mates with too big a job to do and Zerouali scored what proved to be the winner in the 69th minute.
