THROAT INFECTION LINGERS FOR PATERSON

4th September 2001

Midfielder Jim Paterson, who played for thirty minutes last Friday against the Croatian Under-21s in Perth, pulled out of the Scotland Under-21 squad yesterday because of a throat infection.

Today he was still not well enough to report for training at Tannadice this morning. "Jim is phoning to keep us updated and, at the moment, it is a case of keeping him away from the dressing-room. We still hope he'll be able to get back training on Thursday," explained coach John Blackley.
