TOMMO MAY PLAY AT TYNECASTLE

28th September 2001

Manager Alex Smith is considering a couple of selection dilemmas as he finalises his plans for Saturday's trip to Hearts.

With Jim Lauchlan starting a two-game suspension, Alex knows there's a gap to be plugged in central defence and he's also admitted he has a decision to be made in attack.

"It's going to be a big loss, having to do without Jim but at least we have David Partridge back from his CIS Cup suspension and that will give me extra options," he said on Friday. "Up front, my plan had been to bring back Derek Lilley after resting him against Dumbarton, but Steven Thompson's performance on Tuesday against Dumbarton has given me something to think about."

Alex though, stressed that whatever the team, this is a game he wants three points from. "The players were very professional in bouncing back from the Rangers result against Dumbarton but they've got to show the same kind of determination in the league."
