It was confirmed today that Youth team left back Ryan Waddell has broken a leg after he sustained an injury in training on Tuesday and he now faces up to a seven to eight week absence.
The break was caused when the Rutherglen-born youngster fell awkwardly in training on Tuesday. Ryan, who can also play left centre back, is a product of Dundee United Youth Development and has been with United since Under 12 level. In 2000/01 he had an excellent season with United's Youth team and gained some Under-21 level experience at the beginning of 2001/02.
