ALEX SMITH'S CELTIC MATCH COMMENTS

Alex Smith felt that the early goal conceded to Celtic made a difficult job much harder for his young team.

"It was a miserable day for us. I must admit I was optimistic when I came down here. We had a bit of confidence and I felt we could come here and handle the situation but we conceded a goal too early. When you do that against Celtic here you put yourself in a hard position."

"We started the game reasonably well. In actual fact we were attacking Celtic in the right-hand corner when they broke forward and it was the first time they had been in our box. To concede a goal like that is sacrilege really."

"We did nothing going forward. We gave the ball back, we didn't hold the ball up, we didn't play at all. Now we are a young side and maybe that had something to do with it but we need to learn to come into Glasgow and play to get results. You can't come in here and concede like we did.
