LAUCHLAN RETURNS FROM SUSPENSION

19th October 2001

Jim Lauchlan returns from suspension and is available for selection at Celtic. Jim, who was suspended following a red card at Pittodrie on 15th September, has played in both of United's home wins in the CIS Cup and the influential defender is likely to return to League action on Saturday reclaiming his defensive berth in the Parkhead match.

Manager Alex Smith said of Lauchlan, "He will have learned his lesson and will be out to atone." The former Kilmarnock player was missing from the 1-6 SPL defeat by Rangers although the re-arranged Tangerine rearguard has conceded only two goals in total in the recent victories over Hearts and Hibernian.
