Craig Easton has become the latest product of the Tannadice youth system to sign a new deal with the club.
Eastie boosted preparations for Saturday's home SPL meeting with Hibs, by putting pen to paper in a fresh contract which ties him to United until 2004.
Boss Alex Smith said," This is great for Dundee United as Craig is the type who's really valuable to a club as he works very hard and gives his all. He's played over 160 times for the first team which is great for a 22 year-old and with 17 Scotland Under 21s caps under his belt, his next stage should be a step-up to the full squad."
Easton was delighted to join the likes of David McCracken, Paul Gallacher, Jamie McCunnie, and David Winters in pledging his future with the Tangerines.
Eastie said, "I feel very settled at United, as do so many other lads here - we all work together and get on well together and that should benefit the club as we strive for consistency."
