UNITED MANAGER LOOKS FORWARD TO CELTIC MATCH

19th October 2001

Dundee United go west tomorrow in search of League points when they travel to play SPL Champions Celtic in a match that brings down the curtain on the first quarter of the season. Team Boss Alex Smith is looking forward to tomorrow's visit to Celtic Park despite the possibility of a backlash from the Parkhead side following their 0-3 defeat in Portugal in midweek. "I always look forward to travelling to Celtic because the atmosphere is so electric," stated Alex. "They could be up for this game because of their Champions League result on Wednesday."

Despite his concern over a possible backlash, the United Manager remains confident in the abilities of his players. "We will approach this match with confidence on the back of our recent results and will attempt to take advantage of any weaknesses in the home side." Charlie Miller remains a doubt. "He is battling to be fit. He trained yesterday and today. We will assess the situation and make a decision tomorrow."
