United's Under-18's progressed through to the Fourth Round of the SFA Youth Cup at Tannadice last night at the expense of a stuffy Alloa side. It took until the 70th minute before the Tangerine's Paul Burns headed in from a Stephen O'Donnell cross to score the game's only goal.
Coach Paul Hegarty commented, "I am delighted that we have progressed to the next Round in what was a frustrating match for us. Although we played some nice football, we did not take our chances and made heavy weather of the match. I was however delighted with the attitude and application of several of the first-year youngsters throughout the ninety minutes."
