United's twenty year-old centre-back David McCracken has been called up to the Scotland Under-21 squad for Friday's match with Latvia at Broadwood. This represents another boost to McCracken following his recent elevation to the United first team.
David played in United's youthful back four in Saturday's 2-1 win against Hearts at Tynecastle having retained his place following matches against Dumbarton and Rangers.
He joins Jamie McCunnie in the Scotland Under-21 squad and with Paul Gallacher earning another call up to the full Scotland squad for this coming Saturday's World Cup match at Hampden, also against Latvia, the Tangerines are well represented in the national squads.
