Together with our technical partners Macron, we are proud to launch our brand new 2021/22 home and away kits.
A key specification for the primary kit during the early design stages was to introduce more black into the shirt after two seasons of predominately solid tangerine jerseys. In pursuit of this aim, we worked closely with the designers at Macron on various ideas that would incorporate our famous tangerine and black colours in a balanced design. The new buttoned collar and flashed effect design are strikingly modern and vibrant features to make this another hugely successful kit to add to the first two primary kit designs produced by Macron.
Our away kit design is based on many requests from supporters over the years to replicate our famous 1994 Jackson Pollock strip. Whilst adopting the basic retro design idea in the early prototypes and paying tribute to a past iconic kit, we wanted to combine this in a new modern twist with more tangerine. The final design is sure to be another favourite with supporters.
Head of Commercial Paul Reid said, “We have worked hard to build on the already successful kits produced by Macron in recent seasons. Football kits are not just for our players to wear on the pitch but a fashion piece worn by our supporters of every age in everyday life. We have to factor in many things and we believe that, with both our home and away kits this season, we have produced eye-catching modern designs that will be strong sellers.
“I am sure our supporters cannot wait to purchase their new kits for the coming season and as a club we look forward to seeing the fans back inside Tannadice proudly wearing them with pride.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our kit partners Eden Mill (main Club sponsor), Norman Jamieson Ltd (lower back sponsor), Just Drink Scotland (upper back sponsor), Utilita (sleeve sponsor), Paint-Tec (shorts sponsor) and Newtyle Commercials (sock sponsor) for their wonderful support to Dundee United.”
Both tops feature an embossed silicone crest and Macron hero for added match day comfort making the shirt extremely lightweight, malleable, and durable.
The kit is manufactured using Macron’s softlock mesh inserts and the high-tech M-Performance System fabric for increased comfort, breathability, and moisture absorption.
Both kits are expected to go on sale on Friday 23 July.
