Less than a week after the 2020-21 season, the opening fixtures of the 2021-22 season have been revealed with the Scottish Women’s Premier League Cup group stage being drawn.
Dundee United have been drawn in Group B, alongside four other sides and the season is due to get underway on Sunday 8th August.
Gavin Beith’s side will face two SWPL1 sides and two SWPL2 sides in their group, with the toughest arguably being Hibernian who finished in fourth last season in the top flight.
The other SWPL1 outfit they face is Forfar Farmington who, after a strong start last season, struggled to cope after changes in both the management side and committee in 2021.
United will also face fellow SWPL2 sides Kilmarnock and Stirling University who improved in the second half of last season and will look to make a mark ahead of the new league season.
The opening weekend will see United entertain Forfar Farmington before travelling to Stirling University the following week.
Due to the five team group, United are out of action on the third matchday, but will finish their campaign by hosting Hibernian and then travelling to Kilmarnock.
