UNITED RENEW APPEAL

9th November 2001

Dundee United have renewed their appeal to fans to help find the culprits who threw a missile onto the pitch at Dens Park during the derby last weekend.

A United spokesman said, "Dundee United have a sophisticated CCTV system in place on matchdays and any person who is involved in any incident similar to last week will be identified and appropriate action will be taken. We know how strongly the vast majority of United fans feel about this kind of behaviour - we've had several calls from supporters this week urging us to do all we can to weed out the bad apples."

The Club is also concerned about supporters standing at seated areas. "We have issued warnings regarding this activity on several occasions and would remind those involved that this behaviour is also unacceptable. Our CCTV and other security systems will be used to study footage and we will take action against those involved."

Dundee United have a proud heritage when it comes to the Club's supporters and how they conduct themselves with the Fair Play Stand being the epitome of such sporting behaviour.
