Rachel Todd has been voted as SWPL2 Player of the Month for September as her side went undefeated, winning three and drawing one.

The former St Johnstone midfielder has adapted quickly to life at Dundee United following her summer switch, playing every minute in September. She also played a pivotal role in their 3-1 win over Queen’s Park, scoring their opening two goals while assisting the third.

Todd expressed her delight at winning the award: “It’s a huge honour to win this award, especially in my first month in my first season at Dundee United. Moving to a new team can present challenges but I’m delighted with how things are going. I feel this award is recognition of the hard work that both the team and I have put in so far this season.

“All the girls and coaching staff have been really welcoming so that’s made it easier for me. It’s been good to pick up some goals and assists at the same time to help the team remain unbeaten in the league.

“Our aim is to get promotion to SWPL 1 this season and many have listed us title favourites. With the squad we have and the support of the Club, we’re confident we can achieve success. For us as players though, it’s about taking every game as it comes and ensuring we pick up maximum points.”

Head Coach Graeme Hart felt Todd was thoroughly deserving of the award, witnessing the effort the winger has put in on and off the pitch.

“I am absolutely delighted Rachel has won this award. Since she arrived she has worked extremely hard to get to where she is.

“She has stepped up in games when we really needed her to and her attitude both on and off the pitch has made her a fantastic addition to the squad.

“Her form has been brilliant and hopefully not only she can continue it but also improve and get even better.”
