Dundee United are pleased to announce that the women’s team will take to the Tannadice pitch for their SWPL2 match on Wednesday 4th May.
The league champions take on St Johnstone in a 7:30pm kick-off – which will be followed by them lifting the SWPL2 League trophy.
The game will be free to attend for season ticket holders, with all other attendees encouraged to make a 'pay what you can' donation on the night. Please note: all under 12s must be accompanied by an adult.
Fans will be located in the George Fox Lower stand and we are hoping for a bumper crowd to cheer on our title winners.
Sporting Director, Tony Asghar said: "We're delighted to host the game for our women's team. Their efforts in securing the title and promotion are to be applauded, and everyone at the club is looking forward to seeing them perform.
"Wednesday will give an opportunity for them to experience a genuine Tannadice matchday, and this is an opportunity for the fans to come along and show their appreciation for what has been a fantastic season."
Women’s team captain Megan Burns spoke to us about her memories of playing at Tannadice back in 2018:
Long-serving defender Burns said: “I was nervous the night before, but I just couldn’t wait to play at Tannadice for the first time, seeing the pitch and the grass was amazing.
"There were 500 people here before, all sat in the Jerry Kerr, and they cheered the whole game – it was great. It’s so different to playing anywhere else, it adds so much to the occasion.
“It would be great to get more than 500 down next Wednesday and get more support, I think we deserve it after the season we’ve had.”
We encourage as many fans as possible to get down and support the women’s team as they lift the SWPL2 trophy.
