UNITED UNDER 18'S LET THREE GOAL LEAD SLIP

2nd November 2001

Dundee United Under 18's travelled to Olivebank in Musselburgh to take on Hearts this afternoon and despite leading 3-0 at half time, the young Tangerines were pegged back to 3-3 in the second half.

"The strong wind played a major part in how this match unfolded," commented coach Maurice Malpas. "The Hearts boys were bigger and stronger than us and normally a draw away from home would be considered a reasonable result however when you go in three up at half time and come away with only one point, it feels like a defeat."

The United scorers were Paul Burns, Stephen McGowan and Sean Callaghan (pictured left).

The United Under 18's next match, which is against Hibernian, has been switched from Saturday 10th November to Thursday 8th November with a 2pm kick-off.
