Dylan spent ten years in the Red Devils Academy before signing his first professional contract in 2018. He would go on to make his competitive first team debut for the English giants in a UEFA Europa League game against Astana the following season.

The 21-year-old spent Season 2021/22 on loan at United, immersing himself with the Club and the city, quickly becoming a fans favourite. Dylan featured 25 times for the Club last season, contributing five goals and an assist, as well as a string of outstanding performances.

Upon returning to Tannadice, Dylan said: "I'm really proud to be back after last season. The big attraction was to come back and play games.

"After I came back from injury I feel I really hit the ground running. I want to continue that form into the new season and I'm really looking forward to getting started.

Sporting Director Tony Asghar expressed his delight in securing our 2021/22 Fans’ Player of the Year’s services, "I am extremely proud to get this deal completed. To secure Dylan on a permanent contract is a substantial coup for Dundee United and our fans will quite rightly be excited by today's news.

"It has been a long process but throughout it, Dylan, his representatives and Manchester United have all been extremely professional. Patience was always going to be required and I was always confident of Dylan becoming a Dundee United player.

"When he came here on loan last season he fitted right in straight away and embraced the culture of this club. Now we want to see him take his game to the next level and this is a great place for him to do so.

"He will have some personal targets again this season, most notably the World Cup, but he will try to achieve that by developing here and helping United in pursuit of our goals.

"Our fans have been patient but this, and other deals the Gaffer and I am working on, will help us achieve our targets for this season

Head Coach Jack Ross said, "We are extremely happy to have brought Dylan back to Dundee United. Watching him play as an opposition manager I was really impressed by him.

"Speaking to people around the club it's clear he had a massive impact both on and off the pitch last season. It's a big statement for this club to bring someone of Dylan's quality in the door and I'm looking forward to working with him".

Dylan will retain the number 19 jersey and joins up with the rest of the squad immediately.
