Motherwell were also in League Cup action during midweek, progressing comfortably to the Quarter-Final with a 4-0 victory over Championship side Inverness Caledonian Thistle. 

The Steelmen sit fifth in the cinch Premiership, beginning the season with three victories and two defeats in their opening five matches. 

Steven Hammell's side were defeated last time out in the league, conceding two late goals to Kilmarnock.  

The last time the two sides met came post-split of last season, where Dylan Levitt's strike after 37 minutes was enough to secure all three points for United.
