ALEX ANTICIPATES EXCELLENT ENTERTAINMENT

14th December 2001

One of Alex Smith's former clubs, Aberdeen, are the visitors to Tannadice tomorrow as United attempt to get a victory under their belts for the first time in a month.

The United Manager is anticipating an excellent match. "Tomorrow's game has all the hallmarks of being an exciting and thrilling encounter," said Alex. "It throws together two teams who have adopted a youthful approach consisting mostly of young Scottish talent with a few exceptions of course such as our Irish players and Tassos."

The effort put in by the players against Livingston last week was not lost on Alex. "We have to take last week's application and commitment onto the field. Against Livingston, we defended excellently and displayed a lot of good attacking play. We need to add an end product by way of a goal or goals in order to capture the three points that could return us to the top six. It certainly won't be easy as Aberdeen are a much improved side."

The comparison between the Dons home and away form interested Alex. "They have been very strong at home this season however, to date, their away form has not been so convincing."

Lilley and McIntyre continue to make progress as they battle back from injury. The only other injury concern is Jamie Fullarton who is sidelined with a slight hamstring pull.

The United squad is on the same lines as last week with the possibility of young David Winters lining up at some point against his brother and former Tangerine Robbie.
