Ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, we can confirm a number of changes have been made to our backroom staff.

Manager Jim Goodwin will continue to be assisted by Lee Sharp, whilst Dave Bowman remains our First Team Coach.

Goalkeeping Coach - Paul Mathers

The club is pleased to confirm the appointment of Paul Mathers as our Goalkeeping Coach, as he is set to begin in post on Monday 17th July.

As he entered the latter stages of an illustrious playing career across various levels of the Scottish game, Paul accepted a part-time role within the SFA goalkeeping set-up in 2003.

The 53-year-old has held various positions with the national team for more than two decades, the most recent being Goalkeeping Performance & Coach Education Manager, whilst also enjoying spells with Rangers and St Johnstone.

Paul replaces Craig Hinchliffe, who left the club prior to the beginning of pre-season training.

We'd also like to thank Elliot Parish for his services in the role of Interim Goalkeeping Coach throughout pre-season thus far.

Sports Science Department

A revamped sports science department sees Ewan Anderson, formerly Head of Physical Performance within the Academy, accept the role of First-Team Sports Scientist.

Ewan replaces the departed Kyler Burns.

Furthermore, Allan Gartshore will return to Tannadice as our First-Team Strength and Conditioning Coach, as part of our ongoing partnership with the University of St Andrews.

Allan successfully worked with a plethora of our talented youngsters during his first spell with the club such as Ryan Gauld, John Souttar, Gary Mackay-Steven and Andy Robertson to further their physical development.

A familiar face around St Andrews, he will continue to work in tandem with the University’s Department of Sport and Exercise.
