Dundee United striker Louis Moult has accepted his second individual award of the afternoon as his stunning strike against Inverness Caledonian Thistle is named the SPFL Goal of the Month for March.

With United trailing by a goal to nil as the match approached the hour mark, the 31-year-old sent an immaculate lob over the head of Mark Ridgers from more than 50 yards out.

Brushing off Cammy Kerr inside the centre circle, an instinctive strike was unleashed by the right boot of Moult. Tannadice fell deathly silent as the ball sailed towards the Eddie Thompson stand, with his effort taking what seemed like an eternity to hit the turf inside the six-yard box before kissing the underside of the crossbar and nestling into the back of the net.

The goal garnered nationwide media attention, attaining more than 700,000 views across various social media platforms.

'It's One Of The Best Goals of My Career'

Recounting a remarkable moment of individual brilliance, Moult said: "I used my intelligence and my body to create the space and then thought 'let's just hit it!'

"It's one of those where it either goes into Row Z or ends up in the back of the net and thankfully I caught it beautifully. I knew as soon as I hit it that it had a chance.

He continued: "In those scenarios, nine times out of ten the 'keeper will be off his line - as a striker you know where he'll be in situations like that.

"I've scored a few lobs but that is one of the best goals of my career - it's in the top three!"
