LEWIS O'DONNELL JOINS QUEEN OF THE SOUTH ON LOAN

23rd August 2024

Dundee United can announce that Academy graduate Lewis O'Donnell has joined William Hill League One outfit Queen of the South on a season-long loan deal, subject to SFA approval.

The midfielder made his competitive first-team debut during the Premier Sports Cup Group Stage, entering the fray in the second period of our triumph over Buckie Thistle. Three days later, he made an impressive cameo in our friendly against EFL Championship side Luton Town.

O'Donnell, 19, enjoyed a successful temporary stint with Kelty Hearts last term, playing all but one of the Maroon Machine's league matches as they battled for a place in the promotion play-offs.

Peter Murphy's men have made a positive start to the 2024/25 campaign, remaining undefeated on league business after clashes with Alloa Athletic, Cove Rangers and Annan Athletic. As a result, they currently sit second in the table.

Everyone at Dundee United wishes Lewis the best of luck for his spell in Dumfries, and look forward to welcoming him back to Tannadice next summer.
