United defender John McQuillan has joined Montrose following his departure from United. Manager Alex Smith was fulsome in his praise of the player brought to Tannadice by former boss Paul Sturrock. "He is a model professional and we wish him all the best in the future."
John had featured in twenty six league matches and in four cup ties although the Stranraer born player had not played in the first team this campaign. He joined United from St Johnstone in February 2000 having previously played for Dundee and Stranraer.
