Dundee United defender Emmanuel Adegboyega spoke to the broadcast media to preview our William Hill Premiership clash with Aberdeen on Matchday 29.
The Irish youngster gave his thoughts on Wednesday night’s VAR controversy at Tannadice, using the resulting frustration as fuel for the tangerine fire and building on two encouraging performances.
ON HIS OVERALL THOUGHTS ON VAR
As of right now, I don't agree with it at all. I think what happened against Hibs was the nail in the coffin. It’s not fit for purpose and that was demonstrated on Wednesday.
I don't know if it needs to get changed or it needs to get binned completely. I'm kind of in the middle of both, but I think a change has to come.
ON USING THE FRUSTRATION FROM WEDNESDAY AS MOTIVATION AT PITTODRIE
We have to let it go because Sunday is a completely different game, a completely different opposition. Of course, we felt frustration on Wednesday, on Thursday and some of us are still feeling it today, but I think once Sunday hits, we have to switch our focus onto Aberdeen.
ON GENERAL THOUGHTS HEADING INTO THE MATCH
We just want to play the way we've been playing in the last two games because we've been performing well. We need to improve in some aspects in terms of mistakes, myself included, and hopefully we get the result in the end.
For us as a team, we just take each game as it comes and try our best to get a result. Every time we’ve gone head-to-head with Aberdeen this season, it's always been a really tough game so we need to be prepared mentally and physically for another difficult challenge - it’s one we’re excited for.
