Dundee United have once again teamed up with Pledgeball to take part in Green Football’s Great Save!

Running from Tuesday 11 March until Wednesday 2 April, Green Football’s Great Save is the world’s biggest climate football campaign, which rallies the entire football community - fans, players, pundits, clubs, leagues, grassroots teams and schools - to take action to tackle climate change and protect the future of the game.

By donating old kits, making sustainable pledges, or taking green actions, you’ll be helping Dundee United earn valuable points to climb the Green Football Cup league table! Plus, by logging your efforts, you’ll also have the chance to win some amazing prizes.

This year is all about keeping sports kit in play for longer - whether by donating, selling, reusing or upcycling - helping to reduce waste, save money, and support those in the community who may otherwise lack access to kit.

Donate Your Old Kits

Ahead of this weekend’s clash with Dundee, we’re teaming up with Dundee United Community Trust to collect old kits and training wear that can be reused and redistributed to those in need. All donated items will go directly to DUCT, helping to support local initiatives and give kits a second life.

Fans can drop their old football shirts, boots, and kit at the Green Football Great Save bins in our club shop throughout the week. As part of our commitment to sustainability, Dundee United will also be donating old kits and training wear to the cause.

Lisa Croll, Head of Operations at Dundee United Community Trust, said, “Donating an old kit might seem like a small gesture, but it can have a big impact. As part of Green Football Weekend, the kits we collect will help those in need through our work and local partnerships. It’s a fantastic way for fans to support their community while also promoting sustainability, and we’re grateful for every contribution.”

By working together, we can raise awareness, take action, and make a real difference for both our community and the environment.”

Sarah Jacobs, Green Football Director, said: “Football has an unequalled power to drive change, and it’s incredible to see so many clubs, fans, grassroots teams and players coming together to help save kit from landfill. Whether it’s donating a shirt or finding a new purpose for old kit, every action contributes to reducing waste, promoting sustainability in football and helping to protect the game we love.
