MARK WILSON RETURNS AS UNDER-18'S LOSE

29th March 2002

Whilst disappointed with the result, United U-18's Manager Hegarty expressed his delight with the overall performance of his youth side and declared: "The teams were on a par and it is most unfortunate that one single error ended up having such costly and decisive consequences for us. I think we played some nice football in terms of technique and ability to pass the ball and gave the Dundee defence all sorts of problems up front. There are one or two players who could and should have done better and we will be addressing that. As a team, however, I feel we are going from strength to strength and it will be only a matter of time until some individuals will be breaking through to the U-21's and further. Special praise must go our new signing, goalkeeper Duncan Bruce, who had a great debut. Furthermore, I so pleased to see Mark Wilson back on the park; he came on early in the second half and lasted until the final whistle."
