ALEX RE-SHAPES HIS PAISLEY PATTERN

4th December 2000

Boss Alex Smith is refocussing his preparations for Tuesday night's rescheduled fixture at St Mirren. "It's disappointing when a game gets called off so late," he said. "Everyone is keyed up for action and then left with a feeling of emptiness. However, Monday's training was excellent, the lads are looking sharp and we are determined to do well in what is a very important game". "Winning this one can go a long way to turning things round for us and as we said before Saturday's cancellation, it would be nice to get a win for Jamie."

Dropping out of the squad are teenagers Jamie McCunnie and David Winters who, instead, will be involved in the Tannadice Youth Cup tie with Rangers (Tuesday, kick-off: 7pm). Smith continued, "I've added David McCracken to the first team pool, and I do feel, looking at the quad as a whole, there is a feeling of togetherness and group unity building up more and more."
