United Manager Alex Smith has released two of his 'imports' of recent months, French defender Stephane Leoni and Cameroon international striker Alphonse Tchami.
Neither made much of an impact at top team level, Leoni completing only five appearances while Tchami earned four first team starts. The 24-year old Frenchman landed on Tayside on a three-month deal via spells with Metz and Bristol Rovers, and has returned home to France to look for a club. Fifty-seven times capped Tchami signed a two-year deal in August with high expectation, having played with Boca Juniors in Argentina, Hertha Berlin in Germany, and United Arab Emirates champions Al Wasl.
Explained Alex Smith," Stephane did all right during his spell at Tannadice, but we have plenty of cover in his position. As for Alphonse, he arrived with a big reputation and worked hard on his fitness. But his style of play did not suit Scottish football."
