PARTRIDGE SET BACK

12th February 2001

There was bad news for United defender David Partridge on Monday when it emerged he could be out for another two weeks. Partridge has missed the last three League games through suspension, but was expected to return to the squad for this weekend's Scottish Cup visit to Motherwell. Illness, however, will now rule him out of the Fir Park trip.

"We sent David home with tonsillitis on Friday, but it has developed into quite a nasty bug and we are looking at him being out for a fortnight," said boss Alex Smith. A few minor bumps and bruises were picked up in Saturday's defeat at Dunfermline, but none of the injuries are causing concern.
