There were plenty of smiling faces at Tannadice on Thursday - and rightly so - after the superb derby win over neighbours Dundee at Dens Park that saw the team move off the bottom of the SPL.
Manager Alex Smith was full of praise for both players and fans after the 3-2 win that could and should have been even more emphatic. "Our fans were simply terrific, but that does not surprise me because they have been like that for every game since I arrived. I'm delighted we've now given them something to shout about," said Alex. "The team performance too was excellent. I could single out individuals like Danny Griffin and Jamie McCunnie, but truthfully each and every one of the boys made a telling contribution and did everything I asked."
An added bonus for the Tangerines was that the squad came through injury-free. As goalkeeper Alan Combe has the flu, Paul Gallacher is likely to keep his place for the visit of St Johnstone on Saturday. Hasney Aljofree is back in the frame for that after suspension, though David Partridge is still banned.
