SHED OPEN FOR SAINTS' VISIT

21st February 2001

Home fans are to be handed an another opportunity to occupy the "Shed" end of Tannadice when St Mirren visit Tayside on 3rd March 2001.

The Shed, behind the west end goal, was where the most vociferous of the United supporters tended to congregate prior to the opening of the East Stand. However, that end of the ground was made available to United fans at a recent SPL meeting with St Johnstone and the experiment was a great success.

Club spokesman Niall Scott said,"The support we got from the Shed at the St Johnstone game was brilliant and the players remarked how good it was to see Tangerine and Black behind both goals. Therefore, we have decided to do it again for the St Mirren match."

And for that vital encounter against the Paisley side, juvenile fans will be offered a chance to get in free of charge. Niall Scott explained, "We will be handing out 300 free tickets to young United supporters so they can hopefully come along and help the team get an important win."
