United were set to beat the transfer deadline when they moved on Friday for former Airdrie pair Darren Brady and David McGuire.
Boss Alex Smith was hopeful of fixing up the 19-year-olds who were released from New Broomfield during recent events there on short-term contracts until the end of the season. "They both have first team experience and if we do deals, we can have a look at them until the end of the season and decide if we should offer them long term contracts," explained Alex.
Brady operates in the centre of midfield, while McGuire is a winger, like his father Willie who also had a spell at Airdrie.
Looking towards the first team's trip to Rangers on Saturday, Alex promised a positive approach. "It will be difficult going there, but we need points and we will be doing all we can to pick up some more tomorrow" he said.
