REAL CHANCE OF CUP PROGRESS

9th March 2001

Manager Alex Smith knows reaching the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup will not be easy, but believes the team will have a real chance when Rangers visit Tannadice in the last eight on Sunday.

On Friday Alex played down talk of the Ibrox side's recent troubles and pointed out the cup holders have only lost to Celtic since the break. "Apart from these games, they have only lost goals in one other match and people have to remember that they are still a very strong side. However, we are far better equipped to tackle them than we were earlier this season and our fans can be optimistic about the game."

In view of the anticipated large crowd on Sunday, supporters would be well advised to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to kick-off. A limited amount of tickets for Rangers supporters are on sale at Tannadice and the DUFC Souvenir Shop.
