Boss Alex Smith knows in his own mind the starting eleven he wants to send out for Monday's vital SPL encounter with St Mirren in Paisley.
Midfield maestro Charlie Miller and teenage full-back Jamie McCunnie are suspended, with various replacement options at the manager's disposal. Candidates for Miller's usual berth as an attacking midfield player include current first eleven regulars such as David Hannah, Craig Easton, or Steven Thompson taking up a new role, or on the other hand, the likes of Hugh Davidson, Tassos Venetis, or Beto Naveda can come straight into that position.
Coming in at full-back in place of McCunnie could be David Partridge, David McCracken, or Tony Smith, but Monday may be a bit too soon for Hasney Aljofree to stage his comeback from injury. As Smith stated: "It's nice to have so many options but I have an idea how I want to play it. At this stage however, I don't want to be giving too much away, but what I will say is that although Danny Griffin can play right back, Charlie's absence in the midfield makes Danny's presence in that area more important."
The Boss is working hard to play down the hype surrounding the fixture labelled as a 'relegation decider' and a 'six-pointer.' It's most certainly not a relegation decider," he added. The fixture being set aside for a Monday seems to suit the media who are looking for a big-game focus to add more meaning to the SPL split. But as far as I am concerned it is one of five very important games for us between now and the end of the season."
Striker Steven Thompson has a sustained slight bruising to his foot but he should be OK for Monday.
