PATERSON RETURN BEGINS

30th April 2001

Jim Paterson's come-back from a broken leg will be stepped up on Monday when he starts the under-21 derby against Dundee at Tannadice.

Paterson, who has had problems since first fracturing his leg back in November 1999, has done well after coming on late in the last two fixtures and boss Alex Smith now wants to give him a longer run. "Jim has looked good in the games he's had, so now we want to step things up a bit and see how long he can manage tonight," said Alex.

With the next first team game not until Sunday, the squad were given Monday off.
