Determined to take a positive attitude in Sunday's Tennent's Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic, United boss Alex Smith is considering using three strikers at Hampden.
Loan man from Wimbledon Paul Robinson remains extremely doubtful with a knee problem, but the Manager still has three experienced attackers in Derek Lilley, Jim Hamilton and Steven Thompson to choose from and on Friday he admitted he could be tempted into using all three from the start.
"We have been strong in that department in the last few months and it is important we take the game to Celtic. If I think the best way of doing that is with all three on the park, that's what I'll do." Whether it is two or three up front, Alex stressed United would be heading for Hampden believing they can make it to their first final since the famous '94 cup win. "It will not be easy, but we have the confidence of beating Rangers twice in the last six weeks, on one of the two occasions in Glasgow, and we know we have a real chance."
United have also confirmed that tickets for the Semi-final would still be available on Saturday, 14th April 2001, from the Ticket Office in Tannadice Street (from 9.00am to 12.00 noon) and the Souvenir Shop in Victoria Road (from 9.00am to 5.00pm).
