McCallum Out To Make His Marc

10th July 2015

As the team prepare to face Vitesse Arnhem tonight  at RKSV Driel (7.30pm CET), Manager Jackie McNamara says that the decision as to who will play in goal versus Aberdeen when the Ladbrokes Premiership season kicks off will be determined by the performances of his three goalkeepers during pre season. Speaking to ArabZONE ahead tonight’s match, Jackie said, “As each training session goes by, the guys are staking their claim but it is match scenarios which will give the best chance. “ Marc McCallum will start in goal tonight and Jackie felt this was the obvious choice whilst stating that each goalkeeper will start within the three games in Netherlands. “Marc will start tonight. He has been at the Club the longest and will feel this is his time. He has looked very good in training and his spell at Arbroath has done him a lot of good.” The Manager feels that announcing that the three goalkeepers will fight for the starting jersey over pre season has had a positive impact on the levels of each of the goalkeepers. “Each of them know they have to perform and whilst they are a close group, you can see the determination and drive in each of them. It is good for the Club to have this competition.”
