Ryan McGowan expects to see United firing on all cylinders for the visit of Watford on Saturday.
With entry to the game only £5 for adult season ticket holders and only £1 for concession season ticket holders and general
prices from £10/£5/£3, the match promises to played out in front of a healthy home support and the United defender says it will be another indicator of how the squad is maturing.
“Last year was a great experience for the young lads and they have looked so strong through pre season. The performance level against QPR showed that the squad is improving both physically and tactically and that the new guys have all settled in well.
“It’s a home game and we are looking forward to it. The fans will enjoy watching United at Tannadice again and hopefully this means a large crowd.”
New signing Darko Bodul had a 25-minute run on Wednesday and, whilst his touch and skill were evident, Ryan stressed that once he is up to full fitness, fans will see how good he is.
“You can tell Darko has great quality and once he is fully fit he will be firing on full cylinders. He offers something different to what we have here and it will be up to us to make sure he settles in and is provided with the service he requires.”
Ahead of the game tomorrow, Ryan wants to see the feel good factor of the game on Wednesday to continue both on the park and in the stands.
“Watford will be tough opposition and they will want to put on a good performance as they head towards the Barclays Premier League but we showed against QPR we can compete against teams at this level.
“It’s about gearing up to the Aberdeen game and that’s the main thing. You can see the boys are looking sharp and fit and we were the stronger team come the last twenty minutes on Wednesday night.
“Our fans are a real positive and to have so many follow us down to London was great and the appreciation shown by the fans at the final whistle meant so much to the players. We now want to keep that standard up and go into the new season and give them performances to cheer about.
The fixture, just eight days before we open our Ladbrokes Premiership campaign versus Aberdeen, will also see the introduction of the new ‘Family Zone’ within the George Fox lower stand and entry for Under-18s into this section is only £1.
